Think for a moment what goes into your shopping trolley or basket … the necessities, items on special, maybe a favourite treat or two. Do you make healthy choices as you tick off the items on your grocery list?
Choosing to eat better protects you from heart disease, strokes, diabetes – even certain cancers. Which foods are healthier though? There are so many choices. That’s why we’ve made it easier for you with our Heart Mark range. Look out for the red and white Heart Mark sign. It helps you to make smarter and healthier choices when you shop.

The competition will start on 24 August 2016 and will close at midnight on 31 October 2016.
To enter the competition all entrants must correctly indicate the missing word of the Heart Mark message. Entrants should submit their details in the spaces provided. There is no limit to the number of times one can enter, however a winner will only be able to win one prize over the duration of the competition.
One winner will be chosen, every week for 10 weeks. Entrants will be notified via cellphone and email should they be a winner. Should the winner not be contactable within 7 days, a new winner will be selected. The hamper will be couriered within 7 days of the winner being notified. Winners will need to take a photo of themselves with the hamper and upload it onto the Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa Facebook page. The hamper prize will consist of a range of Heart Mark products and the contents of the prize may be different to the picture in the advert.
By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by the rules specified in these terms and conditions. The Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa reserves the right to amend the validity dates of this competition at any time. Judges decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another equivalent Heart Mark product without giving notice.
To enter this competition, the entrant needs to be a South African citizen or permanent resident of South Africa.
Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. It will help you identify foods that are lower in unhealthy fats, added sugar and salt, and higher in fibre, compared to similar products.
